Read the premise before the first message
Look for a tone that suits you: light conversation, a romantic storyline or a specific fictional setting. Tags help narrow the catalogue, while the description explains the role you are stepping into.
A popular profile can still be the wrong match for your preferred style. If its setup feels too specific, try another character or write a simpler premise in the character creator.
Give the conversation something to respond to
Introduce a small detail rather than a long list of demands. You might describe arriving at a bookshop, ask about the character's day or continue a topic from the opening. Ask a follow-up that responds to what the character actually said.
If the tone changes in a way you do not want, state your preference directly. Short, concrete corrections are easier to follow than several conflicting instructions.
Create your own companion
Choose an adult fictional identity, a few personality traits and an opening situation. Explain how the character speaks and which details should remain consistent. Test a short conversation before expanding the backstory.
An AI companion is fiction, not a real person or a professional adviser. You can enjoy a character's style without treating its replies as factual guidance or proof of human feelings.
Questions and answers
Can I make my own virtual girlfriend?
Yes. Use Create Character to build an adult fictional companion and shape the setup. Start with a clear role, personality and opening scene, then test how the conversation responds.
Are community characters the same as a custom companion?
Community profiles begin with somebody else's published setup. A custom character lets you plan your own premise. Either way, read or test the setup before deciding how you want to continue.
Do I need to use personal details for the conversation?
No. A fictional name, setting and situation can give the conversation enough context. Avoid sharing sensitive information just to make a character interaction feel more personal.
