Check the action the chat offers
Use the audio controls presented by the conversation and review any access or usage information beside them. Do not assume that a voice option on one character means every profile offers identical settings.
A generated voice remains part of the character's fictional presentation. It does not establish a real speaker's identity or make an answer more reliable than its written version.
When you cannot hear a reply
- Check the device volume and whether audio is routed to headphones or another output.
- Make sure the browser tab is not muted.
- Tap the playback control; browsers can require an intentional action before playing sound.
- Try another ordinary browser session if playback remains unavailable.
- Report the character link, browser and visible error if the problem continues.
Playback and microphone permissions
Listening to audio and recording your own voice are separate tasks. If a recording feature requests microphone access, check which site is asking and why before allowing it.
Use the minimum information needed for the conversation. There is no need to record private account details or another person's voice to test whether audio works.

Does a voice feature mean GirlfriendGPT is making a phone call?
Not necessarily. Audio playback, voice messages and live calls are different features. Use the name and controls of the action actually offered by your conversation.
Do I need microphone access to listen to audio?
Listening and recording are different. Microphone permission is relevant to capturing your voice, not simply to hearing an audio reply. Check any permission request before granting it.
Why does the written reply work but the audio not play?
Check volume, output device, tab mute settings and whether the browser requires a tap to begin playback. If it continues, report the affected chat and browser rather than assuming the text feature is broken too.
